S-5! Clamps & Brackets
Attachment of solar panel system arrays on a metal roof has always been difficult and often the source of leaks and maintenance problems until S-5!® clamps and brackets. Thanks to their patented round-point setscrews, S-5! clamps will not pierce the metal roof paneling or violate system warranties.
Metal standing seam products represent the “state-of-the-art” in roofing alternatives today, offering service life and dependability measured in decades. S-5! clamps complement these roofs by providing a dependable way to attach solar modules without jeopardizing the integrity of the roof system.
The broad line of aluminum and brass S-5! clamps are extremely versatile, fitting most standing seam and exposed-fastened metal roof profiles, including most structural and architectural profiles. S5! clamps and brackets have been laboratory tested on a variety of seam types, profiles, and materials to determine ultimate tensile failure loads.
The S-5! mini clamps have incredible holding strength, providing exceptional value and performance comparable to their standard equivalents. Having one setscrew rather than two, the mini clamps are the choice for smaller arrays and the only choice for attaching the S5-PV Kit to an S5! clamp.
The versatile, simple design and the ample size make original S-5! clamps strong enough to be perfect for the long solar panel strings typical of large commercial and industrial solar systems.
S5! Mini Clamps Available
The Mini version of S5! clamps are bit shorter than their standard counterparts. Mini Clamps have one setscrew in their base rather than two. Mini Clamps must be used with the S5-PV Kit.
The S-5! Family of Clamps
The S-5!® family of clamps attach to the panel seam by inserting and tightening one setscrew for mini clamps or two setscrews for original clamps. These setscrews will slightly dimple the seam material, but they will not tear or pierce it. This provides a sound mechanical attachment that will not deteriorate with age and will not void your metal roof's warranty.

S-5-U  The S-5-U clamp is popular and versatile. It will fit about 85% of the standing seam profiles. |

Which S5! clamp on horizontal seams?
For horizontal seams under .5"
Use the S-5-E and crimp the seam to 180 degrees at desired clamp location.
For horizontal seams under .5" you may also use the S-5-T or the S-5-S to avoid crimping the seam.
For horizontal seams greater than .5" and less than .625" use the S-5-T.

For horizontal seams greater than .65"
For horizontal seams greater than .65" use the S-5-U in its horizontal orientation or use the S-5-H90.
For horizontal seams less than .65" you may also crimp the seam as shown to the left for the S-5-E.
